Since it’s April 15, I was tempted to post a subtly snarky comment about government overreach and our flawed tax system...
But then I read Proverbs 15—and realized much of it is focused on how we use our words.
So instead of tearing down, I’m choosing to build up.
Here are seven nuggets of communication gold from Proverbs 15:
💬 “A soft answer turns away wrath.”
Your words can either escalate or de-escalate conflict. Calm is strength.
💬 “A gentle tongue is a tree of life.”
The right words can breathe life into someone. Use them generously.
💬 “The tongue of the wise commends knowledge.”
Celebrate what’s good in others. Reinforce what’s working.
💬 “The lips of the wise spread knowledge.”
Share what you’ve learned. Don’t hoard wisdom—pass it on.
💬 “He who is slow to answer quiets contention.”
Thoughtfulness beats impulsiveness. Pause before you speak.
💬 “An apt answer is a joy to a man.”
Don’t interrupt or assume. Listen first—then answer well.
💬 “Gracious words are pure.”
The best words flow from the best intentions. Stay kind.
Your words shape your influence. Choose grace. Choose wisdom.
What’s one phrase someone spoke to you that changed everything? Drop it below—I’d love to read it.
